Flexible sealing – directly from the cartridge

Below ground cable and pipe penetrations into buildings have always been considered the weak and complicated details for the waterproofer. Especially in these areas, the waterproofing materials are subjected to groundwater, rain water and and resultant pressurised water - with the common consequences of leackages, efflorences, mould patches and high humidity. With the KÖSTER KB-Flex 200, the KÖSTER BAUCHEMIE AG has again launched a reliable product targeted for especially these kind of problems. The material is simply used directly from the cartridge and works instantly without waiting for curing!

Whereas surface waterproofing with modern waterproofing materials of today with the right application do indeed offer a reliable solution there are still complications for cable and pipe penetrations which demand the highest attention from both the applicator and the material.

In many cases the pipe and cable penetrations will make waterproofing with conventional systems very complicated, risky, and in some cases even impossible. These details are complicated, time consuming and reqire large quantities of the conventional waterproofing materials and must be completely replaced when additional cables and pipes are to be installed.

The innovative product KÖSTER KB-Flex 200 deals with all the above issues in a simple and convenient way. Thus saving time and resources by creating a detail which is easy and reliable.

Additional cables can also be installed after the cable seal has been installed

A special feature of the polyolefine based sealant is that it never cures. It remains flexible, sticky and can be re-shaped at any given time. This plasticity ensures a permanent waterproofing which can follow all thermal movements and bonds to all common building materials. The non-curing property further ensures that a new cable easily can be installed in an existing sealing done with KÖSTER KB-Flex 200, simply by pushing the cable through the non-cured sealant. This saves time, money and annoyance in removing conventional flexible seals - and not at least material as the same seal is used for the new cable.

KÖSTER KB-Flex 200 bonds on dry, moist, damp and wet substrates. It bonds well to concrete, ceramic surfaces, bricks, mortar, plaster and other mineral construction materials. And more important, also to PVC, polyethylene and polypropylene.

Works instantly – even by running water

As an instant remedy against running water around cables and pipes the KB-Flex 200 has proven its worth, by seing single component cartridge packed and the fact that no other preparations are required make the sealant easy to install using a special nozzle and caulking gun, also available from KÖSTER. For larger installations the KB-Flex 200 is also available in bulk bucket packaging.
